He is so lovable and cute when he is not crying. This is one of the rare pictures where he is neither crying or asleep. He is now 5 weeks old and 11lbs! He is heavy.

Third Week

Matmat got circumcised yesterday. :) He is such a brave boy.

We are finally getting into a routine with Matmat. He sleeps for about 2 hours at a time and wakes up either when its time to eat or he pooped his diapers.

He is now up to 3 ounzes of formula or breastmilk every feeding and is steadily gaining weight.

He will be at the doctor's tomorrow for his two-week checkup and for his immunizations. He will also be circumsized tomorrow.

KC is not agreeing to have him circumcized now because she is afraid that the pain would be too much for Matmat to handle. My position is that it is better to do it now rather than later when he will be more aware of the pain.

Thank God for the baby car seat

We spent over a hundred bucks for a crib for Matthew but we soon found out that it would only serve as a changing table. Matmat would rather sleep in the baby car seat for some reason.

Also, his umbilical cord stump came off about half an hour ago. Another call to the on-call pediatrician (way after midnight) allayed our fear of an infection.

I think we have finally cracked the code

Matmat has finally decide to stop crying and is now sleeping about 2 hours at a time, not bad for his standards.

It has been officially a week ago that he came out to this world, since then, KC and I have been sleeping on alternate schedules and it has been worse for her because she has to wake up every 2-3 hours to breastfeed the baby.

I think we are getting used to this. Its like any other thing - trial and error.
